Sales Engineer


Assisting sales in all technical aspects of the sales cycle — from creating and presenting demos to supporting POCs to assisting in technical RFP responses. The salesperson’s technical right hand. Ideally at some point we have multiple sales engineers — one per region/salesperson.

Success metrics: Same as a salesperson’s — successful closing of deals. They live and breathe together.

CipherTrace operates on a global scale to assist banks, cryptocurrency exchanges, law enforcement agencies, regulators, ICOS and businesses in preventing fraud, human trafficking, money laundering, and other illicit activity where cryptocurrency is involved so that cryptocurrency can be safe for users and trusted by governments. We are looking for a Sales Engineer who can work directly with the sales team to understand the needs of our prospects, strategize on how to navigate winning sales cycles, create and deliver compelling value-based demonstrations, support Proof of Concepts, and ultimately help close business.

As a CipherTrace SalesEngineer you must share our passion about leading the Crypto Analytics space, thrive in a dynamic environment and have the flexibility and willingness to jump in and get things done. You are equally comfortable in both a governmental and technical context, interacting with officials and talking shop with technical audiences.

IN This Role You Will Get To:
• Present CipherTrace technology and vision to both business and technical decision makers
• Work hands-on to demonstrate and communicate the value of CipherTrace technology throughout the sales cycle, from demo to RFP to proof of value.
• Immerse yourself in the ever-evolving Crypto industry, maintaining a deep understanding of competitive and complementary technologies and vendors and how to position CipherTrace in relation to them.
• Collaborate with Marketing to continuously help improve CipherTrace’s positioning and how we talk about our products
• Influence product direction and priorities

On Day One We Will Expect You To Have;
• 3+ years of enterprise sales engineering experience, with a strong technical background
• Outstanding presenting skills to both technical and executive audiences, whether impromptu on a whiteboard or creating and using presentations and demos
• Experience building integrations using REST/gRPC APIs
• Experience with code-level debugging with large enterprise customers
• 2+ years of production-level software developer experience with fluency in at least 2 programming languages
• An empathetic, collaborative, communicative, and consultative work style
• Experience delivering messages to large enterprise customers
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities
• Intellectual curiosity, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to connect a customer’s specific business problems and CipherTrace’s solutions
• Ability to think on your feet and help our prospects with any technical issues that they encounter during the sales process
• Be comfortable talking about technical concepts and explaining how they work, both from a product feature and API architecture perspective
• Experience in AML/banking, crypto currency, and familiarity with analytics and cloud technologies is a plus
• Fluency in Spanish, Chinese, or other languages a bonus but not required
• Skills in Data Science and Data Applications Development, including knowledge of; Scala, Python, NodeJs and JavaScript is a bonus
