  • Blockstream announces that the VLS (Validating Lightning Signer) is now fully integrated with Greenlight. With Greenlight, developers can integrate Lightning in their apps seamlessly, while granting users full control over their funds.


  • Vitalik Buterin, founder of Ethereum, releases an article on The Three Transitions, which focuses on layer-2 scaling, wallet security, and privacy.

  • Tim Beiko publishes notes on the latest All Core Devs call which focused on the finalized Cancun EIP list and more!

  • Polygon introduces Polygon 2.0, a set of upgrades that radically reimagines almost every aspect of Polygon, from protocol architecture to tokenomics to governance.

  • Optimism says that Ether is now treated as a native cryptocurrency alongside OP Token.

  • BNB Chain’s BEP-126 update which introduces Fast Finality has been successfully deployed. With Fast Finality, block reorganizations are a thing of the past, and security + reliability have been increased through enhancing steps to fight double-spends and MEV-reorg attacks.

  • Uniswap announces that they have officially hit 250M swaps as of June 9th, 2023.

  • Crypto asset manager Finblox is bringing tokenized US Treasuries to emerging markets across southeast Asia.

  • The Block reports that Tether minted 1B of USDT on Ethereum to support chain swaps.

  • Uniswap announces their vision for Uniswap v4! It provides a new automated market maker protocol that provides extensible and customizable pools.

  • Synthetix Governance has given the green light to add Lido Finance’s STETH to Synthetix Perpetuals.

Hacks | Vulnerabilities | Exploits:

  • On June 11th, 2023, Sturdy Finance lost ~$800K on Ethereum in a price oracle manipulation exploit. The root cause is due to the faulty price oracle to compute the cB-stETH-STABLE asset price.

  • Bank of China’s BOCI issues the first tokenized security with help from UBS in Hong Kong on Ethereum.

  • Robinhood announced that they will end support for Cardano (ADA), Polygon (MATIC), and Solana (SOL) on June 27th, 2023 at 18:59 ET.

  • Analytics firm Lookonchain shared that on Saturday, June 9th, 2023, that Cumberland had deposited ~9M MATIC (worth ~$6.3M) to Binance and ~5M MATIC (worth ~$3.5M) to Coinbase. The firm later added that wallets related to Cumberland, Jump Trading, and Robinhood also deposited to the crypto exchanges.

  • The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) charged two Russian nationals, Alexey Bilyuchenko and Aleksandr Verner with the 2014 Mt. Gox hack. They state the two gained “unauthorized access” to the Mt. Gox wallets around September 2011.
